✨ It’s Time to Step into What Your Soul Came Here For ✨

With so much focus on personal branding and leading with the self to drive commercial success, it’s worth asking—where is that intention really coming from?

In a world full of challenges—elections, inflation, global unrest—what if we looked beyond the self-focused narrative?

What if we recognised we’re here for something bigger, something that transcends commercial goals?

So often, we get caught up in logic, success, and power, allowing the ego to steer. But what if it’s not about titles, achievements, or even your physical self? What if the journey is about connecting to your higher self and aligning with your true purpose?

Imagine remembering:

Who you are
Why you’re here
What you’re here to bring to the world
What you stand for
What you want to be known for
How you want to show up

Is that aligned with what you’re doing today? Maybe it is; maybe it isn’t. Because personal brand isn’t just a commercial tool—it’s what gets you out of bed in the morning.

If this resonates, and you’re ready to co-create a purpose-led world, comment “purpose” below, and let’s connect.

The Juggling Act: Work, Parenting & Home Life

It makes me laugh because it’s the constant dialogue that I know most working families have!

The spinning plates: me time, family time, partner time, and, of course, work time!

It got me thinking about the real energy that goes into holding it all together and, at the same time, being okay with dropping a few balls now and then!

From back-to-back meetings to that school event we forgot to put on the calendar (whoops!), to squeezing in time for each other—it’s a constant balancing act.

When you’re super passionate about your work, it can easily creep into family time, and when you’re hands-on with parenting, that work never quite stops at the end of the day.

What keeps me grounded through it all?

Remembering that it’s okay to ask for support! Honestly, without asking, I’d be lost! (Faye Silk my work wife, I salute you, and Gary, my husband of course!)

I think of life like a set of weighing scales; when the scale tips too far one way, bring it back to balance.

Remember, these moments never come again, so prioritise the school plays, the events, and the time together because they create the memories.

Health and sport are also essential—without my Pilates, padel, walks, and gym sessions, I wouldn’t feel grounded and healthy. Healthy body, healthy mind.

It’s important to step away from one area to focus on another, not getting bogged down in any single role, and not taking life too seriously—even when everything’s hitting the fan!

And, finally, make your work meaningful, because otherwise, why do it? Purpose-led work means living a life on purpose and enables you to leave a lasting legacy.

Remember, we’re all doing our best to show up fully—for work, for our kids, and for each other, even if it doesn’t always feel like it!

Make sure to also carve out that time for yourself!

Here’s to everyone out there balancing these worlds. It might not be easy, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

My husband recently asked me to tell our daughter how I got my first job, as she’s been struggling to get seen and heard by her drama teacher at school.

At 13, I went into the jeans shop Best Trading every Saturday for a year and asked the owner Carl, for a job, ’til one Saturday he said, “Will someone give this girl a job!”

On that first Saturday, I sold leather jackets like hotcakes and became the top salesperson on the floor.

By 15, he had the foresight to take my dad out for dinner and persuade him to let me leave school. By 16, I was running his shop! Did I know how? Of course not, but I believed I could, and I did!

At 18, I opened my first retail shop with the man who owned the shop three doors down from Carl’s. He’d heard about me and ended up going into business with me.

People talk about becoming an entrepreneur and getting the qualifications at university. Yes 🙌 to learning, but also remember—that path isn’t for everyone!

The key things I shared with my daughter:

• 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗮𝗻’𝘁 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹. 𝗜𝘁’𝘀 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗴𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗿𝗮 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘂𝗽 𝗶𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂.
• 𝗡𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗻𝗼 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝘀𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱’𝘃𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝗹𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗻𝗼!
• 𝗕𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀. 𝗬𝗲𝘀, 𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝘁𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗶𝘁.
• 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗵. 𝗝𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗯𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲.

Thank you, Carl—you saw me at a young age. Now, on my fourth business, the road is still lumpy and bumpy, but the belief, determination, and resilience remain strong.

✨ The Do’s and Don’ts of Purpose ✨

What an incredible experience joining a panel of inspiring, purpose-led minds! 💡 I had the pleasure of debating with Tony Greenham, Guy Singh Watson, Andy Brown, and Anna Shiel on whether purpose is the road to redemption or a cul-de-sac. 🌱

Led by Tony, MD of the British Business Bank, we delved deep into how to embed purpose into an organisation and distinguish between purpose-washing and the real deal.

Can you truly be a purpose-led business without explicitly aiming for social and environmental impact? 🤔

Is purpose a turn-off for investors or a magnet for those seeking impactful returns? 💸

How do we tell the difference between genuine purpose and ‘purpose-wash’? And when short-term profit collides with purpose—what then?

This session was full of energy, passion, and a rollercoaster of emotions! 🎢 I walked off the panel feeling invigorated and ready to keep pushing for meaningful change! 💪✨

🌟 Brain Holiday 🌟

For years, I’ve taught businesses the concept of a ‘brain holiday,’ and I know many of my students will smile remembering the principles behind it!

As a serial entrepreneur (on my fourth business!), I’ve learned the importance of enjoying the journey. Taking three months off a year – yes, three months! – is something I’ve done for years, especially aligning it with school holidays as a mum of two. During this time, I dive into a creative project that brings innovation, fun, and a fresh perspective into my business.

A brain holiday gives you space to step back, focus on something new, and spark those creative juices. It’s a chance to work on your business, not just in it.

Here are a few projects I’ve created during my brain holidays: 📖 Brand Famous: Written during maternity leave. 🌍 One Earth Global: Developed in Mallorca with my in-laws. 🎲 The Race To Impact The World: A board game, designed just before the pandemic. 🎤 Purpose Economy Talk: Delivered to 1,000+ people. ✍️ Master's Degree Methodology: Created during peaceful mornings in Bali.

This year, living in Bali, I’m continuing this tradition. I always make time for family, working on a project, and exploring new places with the kids.

So, have you ever considered taking a step back from your business to work on something creative? What would your brain holiday project be?

👇 Comment below with your ideas, and can you guess what my new project for this year is?

Living in Bali has been a profound experience for my family and me, immersing us in a culture where traditions run deep, and honouring the past is a way of life. Being part of such a connected community—where generations share, celebrate, and carry forward timeless wisdom—has been incredibly humbling.

Today, the entire island celebrates Galungan, a festival that marks the triumph of good over evil, a time to honor ancestors, and a moment to pause and reconnect with purpose. For the Balinese, this is more than a celebration; it's an expression of gratitude, a way to find balance, and a reminder of what truly matters.

In many ways, this reflects how I view business. Much like the spirit of Galungan, purpose and intention are at the heart of everything. It’s about leading with integrity, staying grounded, and celebrating victories with humility, all while being guided by values that truly matter.

The Balinese also believe in the power of vision—honouring the journey that’s been travelled and trusting in the wisdom of those who came before us. What if we all embraced this, staying present while creating the future we want to see?

For me, building a conscious business means aligning purpose with heart, honoring the past, and being open to what lies ahead. As we celebrate Galungan today, I reflect on how this spirit can inspire us to lead with intention and create lasting impact.
